Pastor Moore was born in Bay City, Texas to the late D.P. Moore and Mrs. Elease Moore. He is the seventh of nine children born to this union. He attended Hilliard High Scholl in Bay City.
Reverend Moore confessed Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized into the fellowship of Vine Grove Christian Church. He was called into the ministry in 1975 while a member of University Christian Church, Houston Texas, under the pastorage of Reverend C. M. Cooper. He united with Garden Grove Christian Church in 1976, serving under the leadership of the late Reverend R. H. Page.
In 1977, after attending School Of Faith and Life courses in Religion at Jarvis Christian College, Pastor Moore was issued a Certificate of License by the Texas Christian Missionary Fellowship Presbytery. He received a Certificate of Ordination in 1978. He did four years study of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Reverend Moore has worked tirelessly in the total life of the church. He has served as President of the Christian Men’s Fellow, Chairman of Evangelistic Plan Division of Homeland Ministries, Indianapolis, IN; Pastor of Community Christian Church, Houston Texas, Interim Pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church, Bay City, Texas, and President of Texas Christian Missionary Fellowship.
Reverend Moore, now widowed, was united in marriage to Delores J. Bryant, and to this union four children were born and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He has been the Senior Pastor of Garden Grove for over 22 years.
Raumone V. Burton is a Chaplain with the Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, he was the Senior Pastor of University Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Houston, and was the Pastor of Vermont Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Flint, Michigan. He has earned several degrees, including the Doctor of Ministry degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. He currently serves at Garden Grove Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Houston, where the Rev. Will L. Moore is his pastor. Along with his other responsibilities as an Ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), he is the Adjunct Assistant Professor of Preaching at Houston Graduate School of Theology in Houston, Texas. His ministry is enhanced with the help of his wife, Ramona P. Burton, and two daughters: Kayla and Kaci.
